Gateway Towns to Yellowstone National Park

During your trip to Yellowstone National Park, you will travel through one or more of the gateway towns and communities that are on the border of Yellowstone. These towns provide you with many of the basic visitor services that you might not be able to find within Yellowstone National Park.

These communities adjacent to Yellowstone Park provide you with great options for lodging, dining, entertainment, and of course souvenirs for your trip to Yellowstone.

In alphabetical order, the primary Yellowstsone gateway communities are:

Cody, Wyoming is the eastern gateway to Yellowstone National Park. The town was named after the famous "Buffalo Bill" Cody. The community of Cody is known for its western style, rodeos, art shows, and the Buffalo Bill Historical Center.

Cooke City, Montana along with Silver Gate are the northeast gateway communities to Yellowstone National Park.

Gardiner, Montana is the northwestern gateway town to Yellowstone Park.

West Yellowstone, Montana is know as the western gateway community to Yellowstone National Park.
